Week 3 and look at them grow! I think I might have got the wrong kind of pea...they look like they need a trellis :/ but, I'm not sure. The birds have eaten at least half of every strawberry that has turned the tiniest bit red...so, those will probably have to go soon. Maybe good to make some room anyway.
Audrey wants to go out daily to check the beans. She is loving it. And today she spotted our first tiny green cherry tomato. :)

This is My Garden
Here it is!! I got it done...on Saturday! And in my opinion, it looks awesome. :) It may get quite overgrown if it does well, but it is a learning process. We've got (from top l-r) Sunflower, 2 Early Girl Tomatoes, Cherry Tomato, Basil, 2 Green Peppers, Cherry Tomato, Carrots, Beans, Peas, Jalapeno Pepper, Marigold, 2 Strawberries and one more Marigold. I don't expect much from the beans, peas and carrots, but thought it was worth a try. We get a lot of rabbits in our yard, and although it is raised, I do believe they may figure it out anyway. I figure next year, maybe save the squares and make more room for tomatoes. But, we'll see. Maybe we'll get lucky.....like I said, it's a learning process.
Here we are 5 days later. Perked up nicely and the marigolds are already popping out...and we have the start of strawberries!!! So fun! The petunias look pretty but have since gone into pots on our deck and probably will end up at the front stoop where we get the most sun. The girls picked them out. :)

Gardens
It's that time of year again. And this year, I 'm actually doing it. Not just going to talk about it or wish it. It's really happening...today. (and probably tomorrow too)
I'm planting a veggie garden! I got a raised garden bed for Christmas. (Thank you to MIL and FIL!) It's made of cedar and at the moment still just planks. But, it's a beautiful afternoon, my laundry is going and girls are sleeping...so, out I will go to build my garden bed.
Last year, I had a lot of aspirations to plant a garden. I found things like this on Pinterest...

Isn't that beautiful?? I wish it was mine. Then, I even added the building "kit" on Amazon to my wish list. I drew out a diagram for plant arrangements and everything. And...that's as far as it got. I got busy doing whatever it was and then, it got to be too late.
But, then, much to my surprise...Christmas rolls around and there is a giant box and an oddly shaped very large package with my name on it. It's my Garden Bed I forgot all about!!! And a whole gardening tote with tools, gloves and tomato cages!! And...I still have my diagram. :-) Now, no excuses.
I AM SO EXCITED!! Outside I go........(to be continued.)
